Maga Bo - Fire feat. Xuman

Here is the first video clip to accompany my upcoming album, Archipelagoes, and 12" vinyl on Soot Records. "Fire feat. Xuman" was filmed and edited in Guediawaye, Dakar, Senegal by Ceptik on an almost non-existent budget with the help and enthusiasm of a bunch of friends (Big up Still crew, Xuman, Omar and Fatou Kande, Edouard Manga, Etienne Senghor and Warustudio!), a super trashed Mercedes and a video camera on loan. Xuman is one third of the heavyweight group Pee Froiss. Stay tuned for 2 more clips coming soon - "Saye Mbott feat. ALIF," filmed in Dakar and "Nqayi feat. Teba," filmed in Cape Town.

My

Xuman has a new record out called "Gunman." You can also check his website.

Keyti is currently at work on his solo record. Photo by Sandy Haessner

Dakar, Senegal "making of" video shoot photos

Back in Dakar after a week in the Casamance, with the help of Fatou Kande and Etienne Senghor and Omar Kande (massive Big UP!!), I connected with Ceptik, who is an MC/producer/cameraman/editor/graphic designer/IT programmer and is also part of the crew Still, to help me put together 2 videos for the songs, "Fire feat. Xuman" and "Saye Mbott feat. ALIF," both of which are on my new record, "Archipelagos," to be released on Soot Records. This was full-on DIY. Borrowed camera, lights rented on the super cheap as a favor, mini DV tapes bought in europe to save money, a fucked-up old mercedes on loan to play a clandestine taxi, the very kindly donated space at WaruStudio in Mermoz to film in, a back alleyway tangana in Guediawaye, all of the artists' time and effort as well as extended friends, families and crews. Much thanks to everybody who helped make this happen!! Videos coming soon..........You can check the full flickr set of photos here.
